In this answer, I will discuss the following criteria: the philosophy/conceptual framework/theory/middle-range theory that describes nursing in my approach, how I utilize this philosophy to organize my thoughts for critical thinking and decision making in nursing practice, my personal definition of nursing, person, health, and environment, two beliefs/values about nursing that guide my practice, and an analysis of my communication style.

1. Which philosophy/conceptual framework/theory/middle-range theory describes nursing in the way you think about it?

In my opinion, the middle-range theory that describes nursing in the way I think about it is the Self-Care Deficit Nursing Theory by Dorothea Orem. This theory emphasizes the importance of self-care in promoting patient independence and improving health outcomes. As a nurse, I believe it is my responsibility to assist patients with their activities of daily living and help them develop self-care skills that will enable them to manage their health effectively.
