IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING WORD LIMIT REQUIREMENTS:
Please note that each and every assignment has its own word limit.
Evaluate a significant environmental change occurring in your region (wildfires, higher-than average temperatures, droughts, floods, etc.). Create a 10-15 slide PowerPoint presentation explaining how natural disasters are influenced by climate change. Include comprehensive speaker notes for each slide. Include the following:
- Describe the natural disaster. Discuss how climate change has contributed to the natural disaster that is causing the environmental change. Discuss the potential anthropogenic and natural causes. Provide evidence to support your claims.
- Describe the human population health issues likely to be exacerbated by the environmental change. Identify one or more surveillance reports, and discuss data from these sources, relevant to the event and region. Discuss the methods used in data collection. Use a table or graph to display your findings.
- Explain the impact is climate change projected to have on animal and ecosystem health in your region.
- Discuss how your region’s environmental policy, or lack of policy, has influenced and shaped the response to the environmental change.
- Explain how local and regional environmental policies have a global impact when it comes to climate change.
- Explain how the people in your region, including community members and leaders, perceive the concept of climate change. How do their opinions regarding climate change affect the environmental policy in your region? Describe some of the challenges to addressing climate change in your region.

Be sure to support your postings and responses with specific references to the Learning Resources.
It is important that you cover all the topics identified in the assignment. Covering the topic does not mean mentioning the topic BUT presenting an explanation from the context of ethics and the readings for this class
I am a stickler for good organization in everything. I do not want to have to dig for your answers. For instance, if an assignment asks you to provide three examples of something, I suggest that you number them 1-3 so I can find them easily. I also expect that when you submit something as a narrative, you pay attention to how you organize your thoughts: use paragraphs with a topic sentence and supporting sentences; and change paragraphs whenever you introduce a new idea. Also, if there are multiple parts to an assignment, use sub-heads within the paper to organize them.
To get maximum points you need to follow the requirements listed for this assignments 1) look at the word/page limits 2) review and follow APA rules 3) create subheadings to identify the key sections you are presenting and 4) Free from typographical and sentence construction errors.
REMEMBER IN APA FORMAT JOURNAL TITLES AND VOLUME NUMBERS ARE ITALICIZED.

Climate change is a significant issue that affects the environment and population health across the globe. This assignment requires the evaluation of a natural disaster occurring in a specific region and how it is influenced by climate change. The presentation will also discuss the potential anthropogenic and natural causes of the natural disaster, the human population health issues likely to be exacerbated by it, the impact of climate change on animal and ecosystem health in the region, and the influence of regional environmental policies on the response to the environmental change. Lastly, it will explore how the people in the region perceive the concept of climate change and the challenges they face in addressing it.
The natural disaster that is affecting the region is the wildfires. The increased frequency and severity of wildfires in the region are mainly due to climate change along with natural causes like lightning strikes, strong winds, and dry vegetation. The wildfires are causing significant environmental changes, including deforestation, soil degradation, and the release of hazardous air pollutants.
The wildfires are exacerbating human population health issues like respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, which can lead to premature death. The surveillance reports indicate that the incidence and severity of these health issues are increasing due to the natural disaster. Data collection methods used to obtain this information include surveys, medical records, and air quality measurements. A table will be used to display the findings obtained from these data sources.
The impact of climate change on animal and ecosystem health in the region is significant. The wildfires are killing and displacing wild animals, leading to a reduction in biodiversity and ecosystem services. Additionally, the release of hazardous air pollutants from the wildfires is causing acidification of water bodies and soil, further affecting animal and plant health.
The regional environmental policy plays a significant role in shaping the response to the environmental change. Lack of policies and regulations has led to unsustainable land use practices, deforestation, and poor air quality. On the other hand, effective policies and regulations have led to reduced emissions, reduced deforestation rates, and increased use of renewable energy.
Local and regional environmental policies have a global impact when it comes to climate change. The reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and deforestation rates in a region will lead to an overall reduction in global carbon emissions, contributing to mitigating climate change.
The people in the region have varied perceptions of the concept of climate change. Some see it as a critical issue that requires urgent action, while others downplay its significance. Their opinions regarding climate change affect the environmental policy in the region, especially on issues such as reducing emissions levels and promoting climate adaptation strategies. The challenges to addressing climate change in the region include policy inconsistencies, inadequate resources, and limited public awareness and engagement.
In conclusion, the assignment requires an understanding of the significant environmental changes occurring in a region due to natural disasters influenced by climate change. The presentation has evaluated the region’s wildfires and how climate change has contributed to the natural disaster, the human population health issues exacerbated by it, the impact of climate change on animal and ecosystem health in the region, and the influence of regional environmental policies on the response. Lastly, it explored how people in the region perceive the concept of climate change and the challenges they face in addressing the issue.
